Friday was sooo fun. Belem and I went into Chihuahua after she got out of school and took lots of pictures in Palacio del Gobierno. I have decided I could live there. It’s so relaxing and beautiful. I told Belem I would give her a photoshoot and we decided to do it there. Afterwards we went to Super Coldy, which has riquisimo coconut ice cream. Toasted coconut flakes and all. This time I DIDN’T accidentally order dried prune ice cream, thank goodness. After Super Coldy Belem and I went to Lirio annd picked up her sister then headed to Aldama to meet a friend of Belem’s. We visited with her and her family for a little while, then went to…. A Mary Kay party. Yes, Mary Kay. Hahahaha. It was fun.
Had a good weekend at Lirio. Saturday two different groups came, one from Monterrey Tech, a high school in Chihuahua. The other was from San Antonio, the church up the street from me. It was fun talking to the girls from M.T, they were all super eager to help me practice my Spanish. Also eager to hook me up with their male classmates, but I only took them up on the Spanish coaching. =P
What beautiful girls!!
Saturday late afternoon I went with the teens from Lirio and the youth group at Shalom to a hospital in Chihuahua. All around the hospital are family and friends of the patients. Some of them are there for days, waiting. They come from cities around Chihuahua and don’t have anywhere to stay. We split into groups and passed out burritos and asked the families how we could pray for their relatives in the hospital.
Saturday night Belem and I made a batch of oatmeal cookies…. Without a recipe. Method? Scratch out a semi-recipe from memory on the back of a styrofoam plate, times it by 10, and go! They were super yummy.
This morning went with a friend of mine to two different churches, one for a drama presentaion and another for the service. Afterwards went out for smoothies =) Excited to start classes for the week! This week I am learning Subjunctive Tenses…. They are supposed to be pretty easy. There are 14 different tenses in Spanish, and all in the yo, tu, el/ella/usted, nosotros forms. (Add vosotros if you are in Spain.) That makes for 56 ways to say each verb.
Well, that’s all I’ve got for tonight.
Buenos Noches <3
