Michigan taunted us with some lovely spring-esque weather, then right after I had the tiniest hope that we might have had an early spring she gave us a few inches of snow and freezing temperatures. The cold is once again seeping into my bones and making its way to my heart… must ward off with lots of hot coffee and my new favorite: unsweetened mochas!
Although I have a sketchy relationship with Michigan in the winter, I can appreciate some of the loveliness in the snow and ice. I still have a grudge and am waiting for her to turn back to summer so we can be friends again.
I am trying to make the best of the cold weather with Smartwool socks, cable knit sweaters and lace-up boots but… Okay, I’m not. I’m secretly glancing at my top shelf where my summer dresses are kept and wondering when the latest swimwear is going on sale… Dreaming of walks on the beach and wanting pack my snowboard up to the attic and get my mountain bike out. Not so secretly I am counting down the days to spring break (37). Hello Florida, tan lines and sandy beaches!
In the meantime, here are some photos of not warm, relaxing waters, but frozen over lake Michigan with ice chunks and windblown snowdrifts. -_*
